They may be making the same contacts with hundreds of other athletes that play your position.

College coaches want to give NCAA scholarships to the students that best fit their sports program and are academically sound. Remember, they can't offer NCAA athletic scholarships to athletes they don’t know about, it's that simple.

In the past all college coaches had to do was scout their local high schools for the athletes they needed. However, things have changed dramatically and now college coaches recruit worldwide.

The problem they face is that they are only allowed a maximum of $5000 per year to do all of their scouting and recruiting. This limits their ability to get out and see you. Therefore it's up to you to market yourself to them, not the other way around.

Very few coaches and parents are aware of what it really takes to seek out NCAA athletic scholarships and therefore give bad advice. Most high school coaches tell the athletes and parents that they can get college sports scholarships for the athletes but in actuality this is virtually impossible for them to do.

In addition, many parents believe that they can seek out the best college sports scholarships for their children when once again they can't.

The end result in both cases is that thousands of deserving student athletes never realize their dream of playing college sports.
